GirlSummer Frequently Asked Questions

Emma Willard School is located on a historic campus comprised of 23 buildings on 137 acres of land with 24-hour security.

Our goal is to provide a fun-filled, interesting, stimulating, and safe environment for your child at GirlSummer. Please email Director of GirlSummer Michele Solimeno at girlsummer@e-mizu-ibaraki.com if there is a change in your child’s world that may affect them at GirlSummer (something at home or at the program). We want to do our best to ensure that your child has a successful and positive experience each and every day.

Credit Card: Credit cards are accepted when registering/applying using our online application.

After registering, campers will submit an elective preference form before June 1. All campers will receive their schedule on the first day of their session. Once your camper’s schedule is finalized and distributed on the first day of camp, there will be no schedule changes.

As required by the State of New York, every camper must submit a physician’s certificate that documents the date the camper received the required vaccines. Medical enrollment forms and immunization requirements will be available online. Forms must be downloaded, completed, and uploaded by parents and the physician by June 1. All campers must be vaccinated.

Once enrolled, please log into CampInTouch to complete all required medical and non-medical forms.

GirlSummer does not accept mailed, emailed, or faxed health forms.

Please be sure that your camper comes with a full water bottle and a backpack. Please be sure your child in the morning with a generous application of sunscreen. Due to possible allergic reactions, it is recommended that your child bring their own sunscreen for re-application during the day; the sunscreen should be kept in your camper’s backpack. Your camper should have breakfast before arrival.

Emma Dining Services provides many healthy and tasty options for campers, all of which is clearly labeled. Lunch options include salads, deli sandwiches, hot options like macaroni and cheese and veggie burgers, pita and hummus, and desserts. Drinks include water and lemonade on Friday’s. No soda is provided.

If you need to pick up your camper before the end of the day, please let us know during drop off or by emailing girlsummer@e-mizu-ibaraki.com that morning.  You will then meet your camper in the GirlSummer office in the Mott Gymnasium at the designated time.

If your camper is going to be absent or late, please email girlsummer@e-mizu-ibaraki.com.

We will offer a before and after care program for the 2024 camp season. Before care will run 7:00-8:00 a.m., and after care will run  3:30–5:00 p.m. 

• Before Care (7:00-8:00 a.m.): $100 per session
• After Care (3:30-5:00 p.m.): $150 per session
• Before & After Care: $200 per session
• Last minute Before or After Care (day of): $25 each
• Extended Day - Tennis Training (3:30–5:00 p.m.) is available for 6th-9th graders only: $300 per session

Please pay close attention to your email as we will email you with further instructions for picking up your camper should there need to be an early dismissal.
